Greenlaw's RV Park and Campground

Stonington, Maine 4.8 (152)
Island camping done properly. No pool, no playground, no party atmosphere — just wooded sites carved into the forest, paved roads, and a Park 'n Paddle shuttle to put your kayak in the water. Maine's #3 most reviewed campground, at 4.8 stars from 150+ people who mostly showed up expecting one thing and found something better.

Greenlaw's sits at 11 Greenlaw's Park Road in Stonington, just south of the village. It's family-owned and quietly positioned — not the kind of place that shows up in the first round of Google results for "Maine camping," but exactly the kind of place that gets passed around among serious campers.

The sites are dug into the forest, which provides natural privacy between neighbors. The pitch is honest: no pool, no playground, no parties. The appeal is the island itself — you're ten minutes from the fishing docks in Stonington, an hour from Acadia, and surrounded by some of the best sea kayaking on the Maine coast. Greenlaw's Park 'n Paddle shuttle takes kayakers to local launch points for $5 per person each way, with $7 overnight parking for your car.

The campground has also been adding amenities without losing its character: free Wi-Fi at the garage near the entrance, laundry in the bathhouse ($3 wash, $3 dry), waste disposal station, self-serve firewood at $1 a piece. There's a free pickleball court with paddles available in the wood shed.

Paved roads through the campground mean year-round access and easy navigation with an RV or trailer. Open 24 hours.

What Visitors Say

"We loved staying at Greenlaw’s. The location is remote but close to Sand Beach and Stonington. The sites are nice, and Troy and Monica sent us super helpful information before we arrived. We would definitely stay there again."

"Had a great time at this campsite last August! first time camping in Maine. They were very accommodating when my first chosen site didn’t meet my needs - they gave me personal service to find another site that was perfect"

"Troy the owner was so helpful and genuinely appreciated our patronage. Helped us find the great restaurants in town and helped guide us in outdoor activities. The campsite is clean and well-Marked for visitors. The area is absolutely beautiful with the coves and fishing vessels. A must go place!"

  • Stonington village is 10 minutes away — plan a dinner at the waterfront; come back to the campground when it's dark and quiet.
  • Firewood is honor-system: take what you need, text the total, pay via Venmo.
