Harbor View Store
The neighborhood convenience store for Stonington's working waterfront — open before the sun comes up, carrying the coffee, sandwiches, deli items, and spirits that lobstermen and everyone else actually need. Owned by the same family as Stonecutters Kitchen next door.
Harbor View Store sits at 5 Atlantic Avenue, right beside Stonington's waterfront, which means it opens early. Early, in this context, means 4am on weekdays — a nod to the lobster boats heading out at dawn. It's a real convenience store in the best sense: gas, groceries, sundry items, lottery, cold drinks, spirits, breakfast and lunch to go.
The store is owned and operated by the same family that runs Stonecutters Kitchen, the seafood restaurant adjacent to it. Take-out orders from Stonecutters get picked up in the back of the store, which means Harbor View functions as both its own operation and the pickup counter for the restaurant's to-go business.
What it carries: hot coffee all day, breakfast and lunch made to order, deli items, pizza by the slice (same kitchen as Stonecutters), full liquor selection, wine, a range of local craft beer, ATM, lottery, gifts cards. State Agency Liquor Store designation means they can sell spirits.
For lobstermen stopping in before a trip, for families picking up supplies, for visitors who need something fast — Harbor View is the practical choice on that end of Atlantic Ave.

What Visitors Say
"Mary is my new friend. This place is well-stocked, affordable, and the staff (Mary) has made friends with some of the toddlers who come in and want to show her their harmonica. That's pretty cool and I was a bit jealous of the toddler making friends so I tried my best to befriend Mary as well. It probably worked. Who knows. The world is short-staffed, be kind to those who show up!"
"The store has excellent pizza and friendly staff, but I have been there 5 times in the past 3 months, and I had to either go find someone to cash me up, or wait for them to stop a conversation among themselves. I work full time, and so I am in a hurry when I go in. I don`t think you should have to go look for a cashier. They need to have more attention on this."
"Awesome place, great staff and they give back to the community buy allowing non-profits to set up tables in front of the store...Thanks agian"
