What Visitors Say
"Simply the most impressive historical society I've seen in rural America. Fascinating displays, a comprehensive examination of this island's fishing and nautical history, as well as its industries and the lives of its residents. Much credit goes to Tinker Crouch and the rest of the dedicated volunteers who fund, staff and support this institution."
"If you enjoy history you'll enjoy this experience. The docents do a great job explaining the exhibits. We enjoyed wandering around the different buildings and learning about the area."
"Interesting place for all things historic on Deer Isle. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Great way to spend an hour or two!"
